Gaelscoil Éadain Mhóir first opened its doors in 1998 with 6 children. At the time it was situated in Creggan adjacent to Seán Dolan’s GFC. The school remained on this site until 2001 when it moved to its current site at the Gasyard. The Department of Education granted the school official recognition in 2002. Since its inception Gaelscoil Éadain Mhóir has continued to go from strength to strength. Currently we have almost 135 children attending the Gaelscoil, 26 attending the Naíscoil (which was granted Statutory Recognition by the Department of Education in 2009 and is now fully funded) and 24 children at our morning  Sure Start programme for 2 year olds which is based in the Gasyard.
