Songs

Tá tioncar mór ag traidisiún amhránaíochta ar an sean nó ar Oileán Thoraí ar amhráin an dlúthdhiosca seo. Tá Patricia (Nic Ruairí) Mhic Thorcaill, Stiúrthóir an Chóir agus Comh-ordaitheoir Ceoil sa scoil ina dúchasach de Thoriagh.  Is í Patricia iníon Éamon (Ghrainne) Mhic Ruairi, nach maireann, ceoltoiir agus amhránaí clúiteach ar an oileán.

Táimid iontach bródúil as an páisti a bhí páirteach i ndéanamh an dlúthdhiosca seo. Agus táimid iontch buíoch fosta leis na múinteoiri a d'oibrigh chomh dian sin chun é a ullmhú. Bíonn ceoil i gcónai rí-thábhachtach dár ndaltaí agus bhí lúcháir orthu páirt a ghlacadh sa saothar seo atá maoinithe ag Fóras na Gaeilge. Thar cheann Ghaelscoil Éadain Mhóir , ba mhaith liom buíochas ó chrói a ghabháil le gach duine a chuidigh linn an tionscadal a chur i gcrích

The songs on this Cd are strongly influenced by the sean nós signing tradition of Tory island. Patricia (Nic Ruairí) Mhic Thrcaill, the director of the choir, and the music co-ordinator in the school is herself a native of Tory. Patricia is the daughter of the late Éamonn (Ghrainne) Mac Ruairí, the well known singer and musician from the island.

we are very proud of the children who participated in the making of this CD, and we are very gratefull to the teachers who worked so hard on its preparation. Music plays a big part in the life of our pupils in school, and they were delighted to be able to take part in this Fóras na Gaeilge funded project. On behalf of the school, I wojld like to express our thanks to everyone who helped to make this project such a success. Mary Nic Ailín, Príomhoide/ Principal.
